Background information:

The Boeing B-17, also known as the "Flying Fortress", became a symbol of heavily armed strategic bombers during World War II. The Memphis Belle version of this aircraft gained particular fame when it became the first US Army Air Force bomber to survive 25 missions in Europe and subsequently became the star of a Hollywood film. The Memphis Belle was erected as a monument to the city of Memphis after its service, and after a restoration in 2004, it is now open to the public again. With this model kit you can immortalize a piece of this impressive history in your own home!
