Background information

The Arado Ar196 was the standard seaplane of the German Navy and operated from battleships and cruisers. Between 1938 and 1944 over 500 examples were built, which proved particularly useful in reconnaissance and submarine hunting. The maneuverable aircraft offered its two-person crew excellent visibility and, thanks to its robust construction, was able to take off and land even in rough seas.

Accept the challenge now and create your own piece of aviation history. Order your Arado Ar196A-3 model kit today and experience the fascination of detailed naval aviation model building.

Samuel ★★★★★

The float assembly fits together perfectly and the 1:32 scale feels substantial in hand. I've never built a seaplane model before, but the detailed engine cowling made this a rewarding project from start to finish.

Joshua C. ★★★★★

The panel lines are crisply engraved and the cockpit detail really pops once the canopy is on. I spent a full weekend on it, and the catapult trolley alone is worth the build.

Emily ★★★★★

The wing floats and catapult rigging fit together with almost no sanding, which is rare for a 1:32 scale kit. I’ve built plenty of naval aircraft, and the cockpit detail here is sharp enough to display without extra photo-etch.
