Compare the Revell Control Flip Racer and Field Hunter RC cars on price, design, and play style to find the right pick for your next indoor or outdoor adventure.
Quick Answer
Choose the Flip Racer for its unique 2-in-1 flip mechanic and indoor-friendly stunt play, or pick the Field Hunter for a budget-friendly, durable off-road RC truck that handles tight spaces outdoors.
Two Play Styles, Two Different Thrills
The Flip Racer and Field Hunter are both Revell Control RC cars, but they're built for different kinds of fun. The Flip Racer turns every flip into a role swap—you're the hunter one second, the hunted the next. That makes it a great choice for solo stunt sessions or showing off tricks. The Field Hunter, on the other hand, is all about conquering obstacles and testing your driving skills in tight spaces, whether you're indoors or out.
Price is another key difference. The Flip Racer costs more (USD 14.79 vs USD 6.89), so if budget is your main concern, the Field Hunter is the more wallet-friendly option. But the Flip Racer's unique mechanic might justify the higher price if you're after something truly different.
Age and Skill Considerations
The Field Hunter is recommended for ages 6 and up, making it a solid pick for young adventurers and beginners. The Flip Racer's stunt-focused design may appeal more to older kids or adults who enjoy mastering tricks. Neither product lists a specific age rating for the Flip Racer, so if you're buying for a young child, the Field Hunter's clear recommendation offers more peace of mind.
Think about where you'll drive. The Field Hunter is described as suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, while the Flip Racer's stunt mechanic is likely to shine on smooth indoor surfaces where flips are easier to control. If you plan to drive mostly outdoors on rough terrain, the Field Hunter's off-road design is a better fit.
Trade-Offs at a Glance
- Stunt novelty vs. off-road utility: If you want a car that does something no other RC does, pick the Flip Racer for its flip-to-switch-roles feature. If you need a dependable off-road truck for varied terrain, choose the Field Hunter.
- Budget vs. unique feature: The Field Hunter is the more affordable option at USD 6.89. The Flip Racer costs more (USD 14.79) but offers a unique stunt mechanic that the Field Hunter doesn't have. If price is the deciding factor, the Field Hunter wins; if you value novelty, the Flip Racer is worth the extra cost.
- Indoor play vs. all-terrain use: The Flip Racer's flip-based stunts are likely best on smooth indoor floors. The Field Hunter is explicitly suitable for both indoor and outdoor driving, making it more versatile for kids who want to play anywhere. Consider your primary driving surface before buying—indoor stunt fans should lean toward the Flip Racer, while outdoor explorers should choose the Field Hunter.
